The main aim of the Olympic Appeal is to draw together sponsors who are interested in supporting a fund to help pay for local sporting talent to, not only become Olympic standard players, but will hopefully represent Salisbury in the 2012 Olympics in London. This representation would hopefully increase local sporting awareness and the opportunities available in and around Salisbury.

A Sports Forum responsible for managing the Fund will be created. The make up of the forum will include the SAS, the Salisbury District Council and other funding bodies and supporting organisations.

In addition to managing the Sponsors fund, the forum will identify suitable sports, players or individuals worthy of financial support in the form of paying for necessary and vital extra coaching or equipment. This support will be provided in the run up to the Olympic Games in 2012.
